GENTLE YOGA classes are great for everyone and a perfect introduction to yoga! Gentle Yoga is a Hatha style class and includes foundational poses, modifications, use of props, emphasis on breath, and some yogic philosophy.
GENTLE FLOW: A welcoming and safe space for all regardless of your size, shape, or ability. Starting where you are, this class offers you the chance to safely build flexibility and strength as you use props, individual attention, and deep relaxation to find your yoga in a flowing, Vinyasa style. This is a great class for those new to yoga, or ones that prefer a slower paced flow in their yoga practice.
CHAIR YOGA will benefit anyone who prefers to do yoga in a chair, such as those with mobility issues, balance issues, those looking to start slowly, or would just feel more confident starting this way. Using the chair as a support, the body will begin to relax. Slowly, through gentle stretches and yoga breathing techniques, the body will respond becoming stronger, more flexible, improving circulation, and helping with stress and mental clarity.
YIN & YANG YOGA: This all-levels class is the combination of passive (yin) and vigorous (yang) yoga practices. It is rooted in the idea that, in order to create balance in your overall practice, you need to alternately exert and quiet yourself. The practice consists of intermittent flowing sequences of standing postures, much like an extended Sun Salutation, separated and balanced by cooling Yin poses held for several minutes to attain the deep fascia stretch. The practice of marrying the Yin and Yang poses allow for the body to get heated by the Yang sequences, stretch fascia during yin poses, and then the released toxins are able to circulate and move out of the body.
YOGA FLOW: This mixed level class synchronizes the movements of the breath with a dynamic, more vigorous sequence of connected yoga postures, which are joined together in a smooth, flowing way, almost like a dance (also known as Vinyasa). The breath is an important component of these classes, and the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This class has the ability to back off or build up to the practice you desire.
POWER FLOW is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. This type of yoga is a great way to combine the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga with high intensity, calorie burning exercise. Power Yoga strengthens your body, increases flexibility, and promotes stamina and weight loss as well as improving posture and balance.
HEATED/HOT classes involve a dynamic and challenging practice in a room heated to 90 degrees or above. In this heated environment, you will be led in a mixed level Vinyasa style, or flow, practice. The heat component in this practice allows your muscles to become more flexible, achieving more intense stretches, and the sweating process helps to detox and purify your body of toxins and excess water and salt. Please make sure you are sufficiently hydrated prior to attending class to ensure optimal performance and safety.
YIN YOGA can be considered a meditative approach to the practice of yoga. A Yin practice usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body- the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues, or fascia. The poses are held for up to five minutes. With these gentle and longer holds, and the use of breath, the fascia and tension are able to be released from the body resulting in increased circulation, improved joint mobility and flexibility, decreased stress and anxiety, offering a calm and balanced mind and body.
RESTORATIVE YOGA typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends, generally supported by blocks, bolsters, and blankets as props. During this Restorative practice, you will be guided through poses that target your 7 Chakra centers- clearing, opening, and balancing the energy that resides there. These Restorative yoga poses will calm and reset your entire body and mind to prepare you for ultimate relaxation in Corpse Pose and Savasana.
ENERGY HEALING SAVASANA is a great opportunity to experience a chance to reconnect with your sacred soul during this deeply healing meditative journey, enhanced with Reiki, crystals, essentail oils, and smudging. Enjoy an hour in your favorite, comfy corpse pose!
HEALING MEDITATION CIRCLE is a beautiful meditation circle experience where Soul Shaman, Johanna Burkhardt, leads us through various guided meditations, cosmic and angelic healing transmissions, and shamanic and ascension journeys leaving you feeling relaxed, aligned, and recharged!
HATHA YOGA refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow free.
FLOW or VINYASA synchronizes the movements of the breath with a dynamic sequence of connected yoga postures, which are joined together in a smooth, flowing way, almost like a dance. The breath is an important component of these classes, and the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale.
