THE LEGEND OF DREAM CATCHERS:

American Indians believe that the night is full of both good and bad dreams. When a dream catcher is hung above the place where you sleep it moves freely in the night air and catches the dreams as they drift by. The dreams filter through the circle, which represents either the sun or the circle of life. The web is made of a single strand, just like the web of a spider. The bad dreams are unable to find their way through the webbing, becoming trapped, until they are destroyed with the first light of the rising sun. The good dreams are able to weave their way through the hole in the center, gently gliding down the ribbons to land softly on the feathers, before drifting down to the person sleeping below.
